Horton is back! After his first appearance in Horton Hatches the Egg, everyone’s favorite elephant returns in this timeless, moving, and comical classic in which we discover that “a person’s a person, no matter how small.” Thanks to the irrepressible rhymes and eye-catching illustrations, young readers will learn kindness and perseverance (as well as the importance of a good “Yopp”) from the very determined—and very endearing—Horton the elephant.

I start drawing, and eventually the characters involve themselves in a situation. Then in the end, I go back and try to cut out most of the preachments.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

An absolute classic! (And a cool movie was made out of it too). Horton is an elephant who hears a cry for help on a speck of dust. He promises to protect the tiny people on there, despite some interference from some malicious folk, because "A person's a person, no matter how small." Delightful and heartwarming. An absolute must.

This is one of the longer Dr Seuss books and will be best for slightly older children, but it's an excellent story with a worthwhile moral ("just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it isn't there").

Incredibly, I have a friend who had never heard of "Horton Hears a Who!"! I took it upon myself to introduce her to it, just so she could get the reference to a shirt that I have which has Horton holding a Tardis ;)
