This is an ambitious book. There are more recipes than one can handle in one sitting, so be prepared to take time to go through this. The first portion of the book is an aromatherapy reference. The second part, which is shorter, focuses on tools, and the third are all recipes. I liked that there were no use of questionable ingredients like borax, but there's one douche recipe in there that made me wonder. It listed 4 tablespoons of peppermint to be mixed with distilled water for douching. Although I'm no expert, that just doesn't sound like something a woman should be pumping internally into a delicate environment. There are no photos, it's very textual with some layout accents to frame the content. At 378 pages, it was quite a challenge to read all that text for such a light topic like skincare. I didn't like the presentation as much as other books I've checked out, but it's a very comprehensive resource on organic body care and a must-read for its uncomplicated recipes, though not necessarily for professional comparison. It's a good resource for the hobbyist, though not that useful for professional formulators.
