SISTER ACT is considered one of the funniest films of all time, nominated for the 100 Years, 100 Laughs honour. Alas, it wasn't included, but the nomination is enough to solidify its stature. However, like all good films, the studios are hoping to bottle the essence and repackage it as a number of sequels. SISTER ACT 2: BACK IN THE HABIT doesn't feel the same as SISTER ACT. It feels like it's trying too hard and is regurgitating and then reshaping to make it plausible. Now, I don't see why Dolores would even consider going to teach as the original film proved the only reason she was a nun was for her own safety. The first film makes sense and I would easily give it four stars, but the second one is a little bit more awkward. With the flow a little off, I may give it two-and-a-half, maybe three stars. However, that doesn't mean the sequel doesn't have its funny moments. It just doesn't have as much as the original. Regardless, I would still recommend SISTER ACT.
