"Carly Chase is still traumatized ten days after being in a fatal traffic accident which kills a teenage student from Brighton University. Then she receives news that turns her entire world into a living nightmare. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved have been found tortured and murdered. Now Detective Superintendent Roy Grace of the Sussex Police force issues a stark and urgent warning to Carly: She could be next. The student had deadly connections. Connections that stretch across the Atlantic to America and an organized crime group. Someone has sworn revenge and won't rest until the final person involved in that fateful accident is dead. The police advise Carly her only option is to go into hiding and change her identity. The terrified woman disagrees. She knows these people have ways of hunting you down anywhere. If the police are unable to stop them, she has to find a way to do it herself. But already the killer is one step ahead of her, watching, waiting, and ready"-- Provided by publisher.

Another very good Peter James thriller. It involves a horrific traffic accident involving three people and unfortunately the one that died was the son of an American gangster family who want all three to be killed and to suffer badly when they die at the hands of the hired sadistic and cunning killer.
It is an easy read as the plot moves along quickly with the always enjoyable Roy Grace character.

I am hooked on Peter James' Detective Superintendent Roy Grace books. I read one of his latest books first and enjoyed it so much I started with his first Roy Grace book and am anxiously awaiting the publication of the newest one. While each book is a stand-alone story, I found it best to read them in order as each book builds upon the last and in each book, there is a tantalizing tid-bit about Grace's wife, Sandy, who mysteriously disappeared ten years ago on Grace's 30th birthday.

Det. Superintendant Roy Grace investigates a traffic accident involving 2 vehicles and a bicyclist( who has mafia connections). When 2 of those involved are murdered he must find out why and keep the third from being killed.
A good read although slow to start and a little on the formulaic side but the interest is maintained

What a great read! As usual, James delivers the goods. If you are a fan of the Roy Grace series, you're going to love this one. While awaiting the birth of his child with girlfriend Cleo, Roy takes on a hit & run murder case that quickly spins out of control with the parents of the dead man seeking revenge. Meanwhile, a side plot reveals some shocking news & sets up the next instalment as one that will rock Roy's world. Can't wait!

Excellent!!!! Easy to read - not at all boring. Looking forward to reading Peter James' next book and all the ones prior to this one.

First time reading Peter James. Love this book. Will go back and his previous Roy Grace books. Well written and each scene follows one another well.
