Haven't read the whole thing - got it for our six-year-old, who hasn't seemed all that interested, actually. In a way I'm relieved, because I skimmed through it and found that there are a few things in here that could scare this mother, let alone a rather sensitive six-year-old! One example - this sentence from the answer to Question 27: Is it time to rethink your choice of gift? (imagine being a kid and reading this - some will think it coooool, some will be grossed out, and some will have nightmares I think!): "...they also held big parties for their gods where they sliced people open, reached under their ribs, and violently yanked out their still-beating hearts." Gak! I'm glad our daughter didn't get to this page! Nevertheless, it has a lot of interesting questions and answers in it to do with how climate has affected creatures from prehistory to the present day, and it ends on a positive note: "The key to coping with global warming might be global wondering: knowing more makes all the difference."
