A delightful picture book featuring 3 bored princesses who decide their servants have all fun. Impetuously, they decide to switch places with them for a day...a very long day for the princesses. After 18 hours of scrubbing, cooking, weeding, and missing meals, the exhausted princesses reach an epiphany: life as a servant is NOT fun, and not fair. It takes awhile, but they eventually devise a clever solution that will bring a smile to every reader's face.

Lum avoids the cliches in many other rich/poor switcheroo stories. The princesses learn to appreciate the satisfaction of a job well done, but it's clear the servant girls are having a ball(the scenes of them lolling barefoot in the garden while the princesses slave away are priceless).
