Cassie Robichaud's life is filled with regret and loneliness after the sudden death of her husband. She waits tables at the rundown Cafe Rose in New Orleans, and every night she heads home to her solitary one-bedroom apartment. But when she discovers a notebook left behind by a mysterious woman at the cafe, Cassie's world is forever changed. The notebook's stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and eventually lead her to S.E.C.R.E.T, an underground society dedicated to helping women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies.

I would put this book in the 50 Shades of Grey category for its blatant sexism and rape culture. This book claims to be "liberating" but what is liberating about coercing women into sexual situations, giving no space to queer people, and never letting women be anything but submissive? While the book claims that the women have power over their bodies, in action, that promise is forgotten. This book should be read with a large grain of salt.

A great read! Great storyline and intriguing idea to have in society today. The main character Cassie is a very relatable character. I enjoyed it and the sequels more than fifty shades of grey. The writing is better and once I started reading couldn't stop. Unlike fifty shades. (I barely made it through the first one). Recommended to a friend and they couldn't put it down either. And bonus the author is Canadian!

An excellent read. Good plotting, and well written (unlike 50 Shades). It comes across quite vividly that Ms. Adeline (pseudonym) is a professional writer. It's true that it doesn't have the hardcore feel that many seem to want now-a-days, but that isn't necessary in a well written novel. I agree with Nutty7688 (Mar 28, 2013) a S.E.C.R.E.T. Society is needed in today's world-especially in western culture where there are so many hang-ups.

An interesting story line for sure. There were some sections that were stronger than others. Overall I enjoyed the book a great deal.

This book was recommended to me by a clerk in a bookstore. I can honestly say it was not what I was expecting, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. For ladies only, enjoy!

The only thing I can say about this book is once I started reading it, I couldn't stop until I was finished. 5 stars for me! Fast read.

I did enjoy the storyline but wished it was more in depth. It felt a bit rushed. I look forward to the sequel.

There really wasn't the level of angst I've come to expect from erotic fiction. I just didn't find myself caring about the main character. It's also pretty tame.
