Recounts the story of a young mother who underwent an intense near-death experience after she became unresponsive during a medical emergency, as she discusses the hardships of her past and the impact of the experience on her life.

Simon and Schuster
Someday soon, one of my precious three-year-old twins is going to ask me the question “Mommy, what happened to you when you died?”

Someday they will overhear me telling my story to someone and want to know more about it. They will look at me with their big, innocent eyes and try to make sense of what they’re hearing. It isn’t always easy explaining what happened even to adults, so how am I going to explain it to my kids?

There is so much I want to share with them, so much I want them to know. You see, my story is one of hope and forgiveness and salvation, and of the glorious healing power of God’s presence. It’s the story of what I saw and what I learned when, during a hospital stay, I left my body for nine minutes and went to heaven and stood before God. And it’s the story of how, when I came back to Earth, my life was profoundly and permanently changed— changed down to the very core of my being.

But it is also a story that, for the longest time, I didn’t want to tell.

I thought this was a good book with some good scriptures to go along with some of the reading

The title was misleading to me, with the word heaven in the title, I thought it would be about her trip to heaven. However, there was only about one paragraph about her short trip to heaven - and it was unclear just what she'd experienced. The book was actually just the author's biography, with focus on her ministry after her heaven experience. There was nothing wrong with the book, so I gave it 2 stars for effort. I think I would not have put the word, heaven, in the title.

How did this story get published and how could it possibly be advertised as a true story?

Boring and made up, way too many meds!

I have this book for my own and absolutely loved it. I've read a few books from various authors about their journey to heaven and back, but this one touched me on a level that the others haven't. Great read and I will never loan or give my own copy away. I will turn to it when I'm weary and in need of a reminder of what is to come in my next life. Very uplifting.

Unlike on earth, where I was plagued by doubts and fears, in heaven there was nothing but absolute certainty about who I was.
