This first-rate, 3-hour, 3-part nature-documentary (presented by the BBC) gives the inquisitive viewer an extra close-up look at one of the most fantastic natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef.

Situated off the north-east coast of Australia, and stretching, in length, for over 2000 kilometers, this unique and intricate coral formation is estimated to be about 20,000 years old.

Through plenty of excellent photography, along with our host, Monty Halls' informative narration, we are taken on a colourful, exotic, beautiful and, yes, dangerous excursion to a fascinating marine seascape where a vast and varied assortment of untamed animal life feeds, hunts, breeds, and survives.

Very professionally presented - This well-researched documentary will tell you everything you would ever want to know about the Great Barrier Reef, an unparalleled ecosystem that exists nowhere else on Earth.

*Note* - Be sure to check out the video that I've included here.

Set of three documentaries on the Great Barrier Reef and its surroundings. The host is a bit off putting at times, but the cinematography is spectacular. An encounter with whales is the highlight of the trio.
