This book is a truly relatable read for any one who has/had or is getting braces. Plenty of laughs with a great and inspiring underlying story

Even though I am a little older than the characters in the book, I never felt bored, because they act more like 9th graders. I mean really, no mother in the right mind would let a 12-13 year old wander around chicago (or any big city) alone, muchness with a boy the mother hasn't met and the daughter doesn't know very well. Besides the age and maturity levels conflicting, I loved the book, because it's a light and fluffy read, but one that draws you in nonetheless. The characters are interesting and fun, though sometimes unrealistically dramatic. Overall I would say this is a good and fun book, but not to read if you are looking for something with more than fluff, fun and (let's be honest) chic-lit. :)

Also: this book was adapted onto a TV show on nickelodeon (now canceled) and I totally would NOT recommend it if you liked the book :/

I liked the book but I didn't get into it and I found some of the characters have been used before, like they weren't unique

i can't believe the characters from the book are supposed to be in gr.7. the book seems to portray them as older, even though they all seem pretty immature. and in the tv show those actors are all like 16 or something....

Although I enjoyed witnessing Kacey's metamorphosis from mean girl to-- well, gentler girl, I think that just the experience of reading the first few chapters was enough. It proved that if this is what the public wants, there is something wrong with society. A seemingly harmless read, this book is meant to show the "other side" of bullies. Instead, it may cause people to sympathize with her attitude and adopt similar attitudes themselves.

I love the book and the T.V. show. Too bad Nickelodeon is cancelling it. #SaveHTR
