Awesome book. Unlike many other longstanding series, Muchamore preserves the integrity of his story by actually writing something that stands alone without leaning on the success of the first Cherub series. At no point did it feel like the author was simply sludging through another novel to milk his brand for all it's worth. This is a solid book, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first Cherub book years ago. I genuinely admire this author.

People’s Republic introduces a new set of characters to fans of Muchamore’s popular series about Cherub, British spy agency that uses only kids between 10 and 17 years old.
Ryan has just graduated from basic training, and is on his first mission - living in a California beach mansion and befriending a rich boy whose grandmother runs a European criminal empire. Ning, 11, finds her strict school life in China restrictive, but didn’t expect to have to flee the country at a moment’s notice. Both find themselves thrown unexpectedly into dangerous dealings with the Aramov Clan, a billion-dollar human smuggling operation, where torture and murder are routine solutions to problems.
Muchamore’s strong but believable teen characters, gritty descriptions of the criminal world, and exciting action will keep readers turning the pages. Readers who are new to Robert Muchamore will want to read at least the first book of his first Cherub series, The Recruit, to understand the Cherub organization.
