This is an outstanding book on the Great Migration. I bought it to give to a friend - everyone needs to read this. It changed my perspective of US history - along with Zinn.

Outstanding book about the migration of thousands of African American exslaves and their descendants to the rest of the country from the rural South where their ancestors originally were brought to work on the plantations.
