There's a lot of gratuitous hate for "The Green Hornet." Geez guys, it's just a movie, it's not like it assaulted your sister. "The Green Hornet" began life as a radio program (radio!), but is better known as a late 60s TV show that introduced us to Bruce Lee, as the Hornet's sidekick Kato. No one remembers the dude who played the Hornet. Are there really that many fans of the show who felt personally offended that this has a bit of a jokey tone? I can see why it failed, as it tries (with mixed results) to blend big budget superhero action with dumbasss buddy comedy and probably ended up alienating both those demographics. Also, the visually creative and whimsical director Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine," "Science of Sleep") was an odd choice for an expensive studio film. All that said, it's enjoyable for what it is, with some good action, dumb humor, and decent performances, especially by Jay Chou (a pop star in Asia) as Kato and Christoph Waltz as the bad guy. I have no idea why Cameron Diaz was cast, but oh well. Frequent Seth Rogen (another odd choice) co-star James Franco appears briefly as a gangster. Crack open a beer, lower your expectations, and, hey, have fun.

I loved it, I mean who wouldn't. I like how they made it funnier than the original one. I mean whats more cornier than a serious superhero movie? Cameron Diaz looked HOT!

The Green Hornet isn't suppose to be a whacky comedy with cheesy action sequences. And the casting is.. odd, to say the least. Seth Rogen isn't a leading man and Cameron Diaz was completely out of place in this film. They should have gone back to the drawing board before green lighting this movie.

This is a poor rendition of the old TV series. The acting was just terrible and the movie was stupid. I was bored and not entertained.

Who decided to turn a potentially good movie plot into a comedy?
It wasn't true to the series, and Rogan is entirely out of his element in this movie. The car is the only redeeming feature.

I really like this movie. It's the only "superhero& villain" movie that I don't mind watching over and over.

This is the funniest movie ever. I really enjoyed it and I can rewatch it over and over again and it will never get old.

I enjoyed this movie. It was funny - stupidly so in places - and I particularly like that they didn't seem to be "trying too hard" to make it a super-blockbuster. It's mellow and hilarious.

Middle of the road action hero movie at best. Seth Rogan is an annoying character in this. Why he's even in it is a mystery. Good thing this was free. Kato was entertaining as an action hero and the cars were cool. That's about the best I can say about this movie.

It's an Ok movie for me, thought it would be a lot more funny however. I found the Cameron Diaz character rather unnecessary and annoying.

Britt Reid: Thirty six? Holy s**t, I had no idea. I thought you were 31, tops. I don't even know if I can hire a thirty six year old. We'll have to build a ramp, huh?
