When the home of Alex Cross's oldest friend, Ellie Cox, is turned into the worst murder scene Alex has ever seen, the destruction leads him to believe that he's chasing a horrible new breed of killer. As Alex and his girlfriend, Brianna Stone, become entangled in the deadly Nigerian underworld of Washington D.C., what they discover is shocking: a stunningly organized gang of lethal teenagers headed by a powerful, diabolical man--the African warlord known as the Tiger. Just when the detectives think they're closing in on the elusive murderer, the Tiger disappears into thin air. Tracking him to Africa, Alex knows that he must follow. Alone. From the author Time magazine has called "the man who can't miss," CROSS COUNTRY is the most heart-stopping, speed-charged, electrifying Alex Cross thriller yet.

Patterson has written some really great books but this is not one of them. Credibility stretched to the limit and yet, the book was very predictable. Still, an okay read

A very fast-paced novel - an excellent read. Also, a look into the Evil that exists in the world and the tragedies that flow from it.

As usual, James Patterson has written another thriller. You will not be able to put this book down. Way to go James Patterson!!

James Patterson is entertaining and this book is a typical one of his page-turners. I thought the ending was kind of a dud, but Patterson redeemed himself in the epilogue. Hey, it ain't great literature, but it's fun to read. I did lose count of how many times the main character, Alex Cross, gets kidnapped. Probably every 20 pages or so! I give it a B plus.

This book was so heartbreaking for me because the reality is that what he writes about in this book is really going on and most of us are oblivious to it

The book is definitely an interesting page-turner, except that Alex Cross is near death about 12 times, and escapes believably maybe twice...

OK read but before you turned the page you could guess what was to happen and how it would end.
